Ratings for Web Hosts

Last week we mentioned some of the factors new bloggers need to consider when choosing a hosting provider. In this article, we’d like to point you in the direction of another host ratings site, Web Hosting Rating. On more than a few occasions, I try to find places where I can share my experiences with the greater blogging community. Seemingly everyone I know in the space has hosting concerns and questions, so I’ll go out to various outlets and post thoughts on my hosting provider (disclosure: MediaTemple Grid-Service). And since the hosting landscape is constantly changing with all the players out there, I feel it’s worthwhile to give an update periodically or stay current by reading others’ reviews.Feel like you to learn more about web hosting before you can add value to the discussion? Take a look at this blog-style web hosting guide, which consists of a series of authoritative articles dedicated to the subject. Or take a look at WebHostingRating.com’s monthly awards for website hosting providers, as voted on by visitors like us. The winners are what the community considers best-in-industry for the following 12 categories:

  • Best Budget Web Hosting Provider
  • Best Blog Web Hosting Provider
  • Best Forum Web Hosting Provider
  • Best Unix Web Hosting Provider
  • Best Windows Web Hosting Provider
  • Best PHP Web Hosting Provider
  • Best Email Web Hosting Provider
  • Best ECommerce Web Hosting Provider
  • Best Multiple Domain Web Hosting Provider
  • Best VPS Web Hosting Provider
  • Best Reseller Web Hosting Provider

Do you have any good/bad hosting experiences to share with your fellow bloggers? I suggest that everyone give back to the independent web publishing community by adding your own unique hosting review.

Probably one of the most unique web hosts I have found is AISO.netPossibly one of the greenest web hosts there is. 100% solar powered with their own on-site solar panels. Not purchased carbon offset certificates. They offer web hosting services on par or exceeding most others, and even virtual server and network hosting for businesses. The staff has been very helpful to me. They have the experience and the technology to handle the most demanding of websites.Highly recommend them to everyone. I will eventually move more of my sites to them.
